It rarely happens, but every now and then, helium-filled monsters need a portraitist. In 2007, a specimen with red horns contacted me: “I would like to leave a piece of myself behind for my family.” I made his portrait for him. He could hold hours without moving. His world is one of saturated colors and high contrast. I think he was happy, because he couldn’t help but tell all his friends about it. And that’s how I managed to do the whole series.
